We warmly invite you to come along to our friendly local arts society offering expert lectures on a fascinating range of subjects, exciting visits to cultural and historic venues, and the opportunity to meet like-minded people.

Our primary activity is our monthly lecture programme covering a wide range of the arts. It’s not just about paintings: for example, talks can cover music, sculpture, jewellery, ceramics, artists, history, in fact any - and all - of the decorative and fine arts.

Lectures are held on the second Wednesday of the month (except for August and December) at 10.30am at the Civic Centre Berkhamsted. They are presented by highly knowledgeable experts in their field, drawn from a pool of speakers accredited by The Arts Society. (www.theartssociety.org).

Each year we also arrange several exciting visits to places of cultural significance, usually by coach from Tring Park Rugby Club. These include buildings of architectural or historic interest, gardens, art galleries and museums, some of which may only be available for group bookings. We are an independent society affiliated to The Arts Society (previously NADFAS, the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts), which has over 360 local societies and some 90,000 members. The Arts Society Tring Park was formed in 1994, with the first meeting held in January 1995 (see History of the Society).

Membership for 2026 is currently £55 for a full year and new members are very welcome (please see our Joining Us page).  The membership fee reduces during the year depending on the joining date. We welcome new members with a named badge scheme, and there is a regular invitation to join us after the lecture for coffee at a nearby café in Berkhamsted, to meet other members and hear more about us. Guests are always welcome to come to a lecture by prior arrangement with the membership secretary at a charge of £8 (email info@theartssocietytringpark.org.uk).

Visits

Several visits are arranged throughout the year, generally in the first week of the month. Tickets for the outings are usually sold at a meeting two months in advance of the outing, except for autumn tickets and some theatre or concert tickets, which need short-notice payment.
